Principal Oracle Developer - DBA -Parsippany, NJ

In this role, you will work alongside Client product owners to understand their challenges in creating, upgrading, or augmenting our products. Then, you'll design technical solutions and guide a team of developers as they implement your design.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, Build and Support high quality and performant SQL and PL/SQL for mission critical product development. This will include new features as well as modifying existing features.
• Design and Develop database automations for various application batch functions in the backend using SQL, Shell scripts and Python.
• Performance tuning and providing optimal solution for application SQLs. Review database performance reports, address bottlenecks and provide best practices.
• Database design for new features. Optimizing the database design
• Architect solutions by collaborating with development teams
• Data analysis and coming up with archiving and cleanup solutions
• You will be working with the data set at a large scale (100s of terabytes to petabytes) and designing solutions for that.
• Production Support for keeping the databases with five nine availability
• Promote the standardization of database and infrastructure components
• Design, build and maintain replication between different systems (rdbms to rdbms, rdbms to Kafka using Golden Gate)
• Support in-memory solutions such as GemFire/Geode and Redis.
• Spot opportunities for process simplification and automation
• Support DevOps team when necessary, in an expert capacity

Education / Experience / Certification

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is required. Master's degree is preferred.
• 7+ years of experience as a Database DBA/Developer in a fast-paced agile environment preferably in a product development environment. Minimum of 5+ years as Oracle DBA /Developer and minimum of 3+ years as PostgreSQL DBA/Developer is preferred.
• Expert level experience with all aspects of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases and features. Oracle VPD and expert level Oracle Partitioning experience is desired. Experience in RDS Oracle and RDS PostgreSQL is a plus.
• Expert level database performance tuning skills
• Experience working with Oracle Cloud Control, Golden Gate and Golden Gate BDA
• Experience working with Linux operating systems such as RedHat. Experience with Ubuntu is a plus.
• Experience in application deployment, automation and DevOps tools such as Artifactory, GIT, Bitbucket, Jenkins and Ansible
• Deep database scripting experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Python, Shell is required.
• Knowledge of public clouds such as AWS, Azure or GCP
• Exceptional interpersonal skills that include the ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with technical and non-technical personnel at all levels.
• Java and Hibernate development experience is preferred
• Experience working in an Agile Environment with great collaboration skills
• Oracle Certification and PostgreSQL Certification is a huge plus
