This is a unique
“first on the ground” opportunity to establish and grow the organization’s consulting presence across the West Coast. You’ll develop trusted relationships with data center developers, hyperscalers, utilities, engineering firms, and other key industry stakeholders while helping clients solve complex power system challenges.
Designed for a highly autonomous professional, this position combines
business development, client engagement, technical consulting, and project delivery support. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the regional strategy, develop new client relationships, and help define the services and solutions offered in this market.
As the West Coast business grows, this role offers the potential to evolve into a
regional leadership position, including the opportunity to build and lead a local consulting team or transition into a broader business development or general management role.

Key Responsibilities- Establish and grow the organization’s consulting presence and business pipeline across the West Coast.
- Develop and maintain relationships with hyperscalers, data center developers, utilities, engineering firms, and other strategic industry partners.
- Identify, qualify, and shape new consulting opportunities from initial client discussions through contract award.
- Understand client challenges and translate them into clearly defined scopes, deliverables, schedules, and commercial proposals.
- Lead proposal development, client presentations, negotiations, and value-based positioning.
- Support project execution through technical leadership, client engagement, and key project milestones.
- Identify new service offerings, strategic partnerships, and scalable business opportunities within the region.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, technical working groups, and energy-sector events.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating evolving grid, power delivery, and large-load challenges.
Qualifications- Demonstrated success in consulting or advisory business development, including ownership of complex opportunities from identification through capture.
- Strong understanding of West Coast power markets, grid planning, utility processes, and ISO interfaces.
- Experience advising large-load customers - particularly data centers, hyperscalers, industrial facilities, or other energy-intensive customers on topics such as interconnection, power quality, grid resiliency, transmission, or energy procurement.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, ideally with significant power systems coursework.
- 8+ years of experience in power systems studies, grid integration, transmission/distribution planning, or power consulting.
- Ability to operate independently while balancing business development, client management, and technical delivery responsibilities.
- Strong executive-level communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience with power system analysis and modeling tools such as PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, PROMOD, or comparable platforms.
- Must be based on the West Coast and willing to travel up to 25%.
