Our multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists work in a collaborative environment that inspires the cross‑fertilization of ideas necessary for true innovation.Job SummaryA Principal Precision Analog/Power Electronics Engineer designs, specifies, develops, and tests analog and power electronics for a wide array of applications such as switched‑mode power conversion, battery management circuitry, distributed power architectures, wireless power transfer, radiation‑hardened designs, motor controllers, low‑noise power conditioning for precision instrumentation, analog front ends, signal conditioning, analog‑to‑digital conversion, precision feedback systems, and dc/dc conversion. The engineer develops the architecture, designs the circuits, performs simulations, implements the physical layout, verifies and tests designs, and supports planning, design, test, deployment, and sustainment throughout the life cycle.The engineer will carry out circuit simulations to verify custom Spice models against component specifications and collaborate closely with part designers and model designers to verify and modify them as necessary.ResponsibilitiesDesign new products and develop technical specifications for their production.Analyze hardware configuration and processing solutions and test hardware conformance to specifications.Independently drive solutions to complex problems—develop requirements, propose ways forward when customer requirements are unclear or incomplete, and adapt appropriately to changes in requirements.Serve as a subject‑matter expert to develop advanced architectures and designs for complex electronics.Support business development activities, including leading the development of proposals and engaging with sponsors.Identify program/system‑level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.Manage multidisciplinary tasks with cross‑functional teams and effectively communicate status to project leadership and customers.Develop, document, and teach best practices to less experienced teammates; demonstrate strong organization, planning, and time management skills to achieve program goals.Perform other related duties as assigned.Skills and AbilitiesProficient with schematic capture and printed circuit board layout.Ability to perform circuit simulation using Spice or other simulation tools.System modeling and analysis experience using MATLAB, Simulink, or other comparable tools.Ability to prioritize tasks.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time‑management skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Eager to learn new technical skills and expand depth of technical knowledge.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field required.
