Are you passionate about building intelligent financial systems that protect and empower millions of businesses? Do you thrive at the intersection of AI and complex risk management? Come join us as we redefine credit and fraud decisioning through Generative AI and agentic automation.

The Amazon Business Payments & Lending (ABPL) team provides invoicing, working capital, and payment acceptance solutions to Amazon Business customers, sellers, and other small business customers across Amazon. We are part of the global Amazon Payments organization, which aims to delight our customers by building payment experiences and financial services that are trusted, valued, and easy to use from anywhere in any way.

Within ABPL, the Credit and Fraud Risk Management team drives credit and fraud decisions for our Business Credit account product with the objective of maximizing credit access, minimizing losses, reducing friction, and maintaining a healthy balance sheet. We are entering a transformative era where Generative AI, large language models, and autonomous AI agents are fundamentally reshaping how we manage risk.

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager - to own the strategic vision and multi-year roadmap for our next-generation credit and fraud risk platform. This is a high-judgment, high-ambiguity role where you will define the problem space, set the vision, and architect AI-native product solutions that don"t yet exist in the industry. You will be at the forefront of driving innovation through Generative AI and AI agents - identifying where autonomous decision-making, intelligent automation, and foundation models can create step-function improvements in efficiency, accuracy, speed, and customer experience.

You will partner closely with Science, Engineering, Portfolio Management, Operations, and business teams across multiple organizations to deliver transformational credit and fraud capabilities. This role requires deep technical judgment, the ability to influence senior leaders (Directors, VPs) across Amazon Payments, Amazon Business, and Seller Partner Services, and the vision to define entirely new product categories at the intersection of AI and financial risk.

Key job responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Own the 3-5 year strategic product vision and roadmap for credit and fraud risk management, defining what to build, why it matters, and how to measure success across a multi-billion dollar lending portfolio
  • Drive innovation through Generative AI and AI agents - identify and deliver use cases where foundation models, autonomous agents, and intelligent automation can transform credit decisioning, fraud detection, and risk operations
  • Architect AI-native product solutions for real-time credit underwriting, dynamic line management, fraud pattern recognition, and automated risk remediation
  • Set the technical product strategy for how AI capabilities (GenAI, ML models, agents) integrate into credit and fraud systems - evaluating which AI approaches will become competitive necessities and shaping platform architecture accordingly
  • Drive clarity in high-ambiguity environments where the problem, opportunity, and strategy are undefined - distill diverse inputs from regulators, risk teams, customers, and stakeholders into a coherent product vision
  • Influence strategic direction across multiple VP-level organizations including Payments, Amazon Business, Technology, and Seller Partner Services through written narratives, PR/FAQs, and executive forums
  • Partner with Science and Engineering leaders to evaluate emerging AI architectures, shape technical trade-offs, and ensure platform decisions today do not constrain strategic options tomorrow
  • Establish metrics frameworks and experimentation strategies that measure the effectiveness of AI-driven risk decisions, including novel approaches to model explainability and fairness
  • Actively recruit, mentor, and develop PM talent; contribute to the PM community through coaching, promotion assessments, and best-practice evangelism

About the Company

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
