    Description

Amazon"s Same-Day delivery program is one of the fastest-growing delivery experiences in the world, delighting tens of millions of customers with ultra-fast fulfillment across thousands of cities. On the Speed team, we"re redefining what "fast" means for customers - pioneering new ways to surface speed, incentivize basket-building behavior, and create compelling customer experiences that drive adoption of Same-Day delivery at scale.

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager - Tech to own and drive the next generation of Same-Day customer experience - designing incentive-driven, personalized shopping journeys that help customers unlock the full value of speed delivery programs. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to L10/S-team leadership, where you"ll shape strategy at the intersection of customer experience, behavioral economics, and delivery intelligence.

    What You"ll Do

    • Define the CX vision for how customers discover, track, and act on incentives tied to Same-Day delivery - creating unified experiences that bring together progress tracking, promotional offers, and threshold-based savings into cohesive, intuitive interfaces.
    • Own end-to-end product strategy from customer insight through launch - including PRFAQ development, usability research, prototype validation, and iterative delivery with engineering and UX partners.
    • Drive cross-functional alignment across Promotions, Incentive Eligibility Services (IES), Finance, and Operations teams to build shared platforms and arbitration logic that scale across surfaces and marketplaces.
    • Leverage data at scale to identify opportunities in customer behavior - using large data streams to uncover how incentive structures influence cart composition, conversion, and delivery economics.
    • Navigate ambiguity and complexity - solving novel CX problems where multiple teams have overlapping charters, requiring strong judgment on when to partner, when to differentiate, and when to escalate.
    • Think globally - designing experiences and architectures (front-end CX, back-end engines, arbitration services) that are extensible across US metros and international marketplaces.
    • Influence technical roadmaps - translating customer experience requirements into engineering priorities, working with SDEs to balance speed-to-market with long-term scalability.

    Basic Qualifications

    • 10+ years of product management or technology experience
    • Experience owning/driving product roadmap strategy and defining product vision
    • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
    • Bachelor"s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical field

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience conceptualizing and launching large-scale customer-facing programs with measurable business impact
    • Strong background in defining end-to-end customer experiences, user flows, and data-driven product design
    • Ability to think big regarding feasibility of new CX models considering legal, PR, financial, and operational implications
    • Experience partnering with finance to build P&L models and size opportunity
    • Track record of influencing without authority across large, matrixed organizations
    • Experience with e-commerce, delivery/logistics, or marketplace platforms
    • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred

    Key job responsibilities

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Own product strategy and roadmap for the Same-Day customer experience portfolio, including incentive tracking, progressive basket-building, threshold-based savings, and cross-surface delivery messaging.
    • Define long-term CX platform architecture and drive ownership clarity across partner teams (Promotions, IES, Operations, Finance).
    • Serve as single-threaded product owner for Speed CX initiatives with L10/S-team visibility and VP-level governance.
    • Build and maintain alignment with engineering and product leaders across multiple VP organizations to drive shared platform adoption and roadmap prioritization.
    • Write PRFAQs, product requirement documents, and technical specifications for complex, customer-facing systems spanning front-end CX, back-end engines, and arbitration services.
    • Define success metrics and measurement frameworks for portfolio-level initiatives, leveraging large-scale data to connect CX changes to business outcomes.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
