Are you ready to reimagine how hundreds of thousands of builders interact with AWS databases every week? Can you imagine a future where millions of compute instances are upgraded to the latest database version in seconds, with zero downtime?

The RDS Platform team is looking for an exceptional product leader. This role is a rare intersection of UI/UX creativity and scale across a fleet of millions of compute instances.

Youll own the RDS Console-the interface that customers use to manage their database infrastructure. We need someone who can reimagine the entire console experience for the next generation of AWS builders. The challenge is to take complex database operations and make them intuitive and scalable.

Beyond the console itself, youll drive platform capabilities that operate at extraordinary scale, systems that orchestrate upgrades across millions of database instances. Youll design how we keep customers informed through notifications and the AWS Health console, ensuring they always know whats happening with their critical infrastructure.

Most importantly, youll give customers more control over their patching and upgrade experience-transforming what has traditionally been a source of anxiety into something they can confidently manage on their own terms.

Were looking for an exceptional product manager, a builder whos obsessed with delivering for the next generation of AWS customers.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
