Principal Quality Control Engineer – Electrical / I&C InspectorUDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Principal Quality Control Engineer – Electrical / I&C Inspector opportunity for our customer in Aiken, SC to support the Savannah River Site. Close Date: 6/26/2026. Job #1556.DUTIESSupervise and direct quality control engineers assigned to perform inspections and surveillance in support of project work and/or maintenance activities. Provide quality control support to construction management and direct personnel to implement quality requirements and accurately status the results. Establish priorities to support construction/operations needs. Resolve complex problems during the implementation of quality activities by coordinating with internal and external departments. Provide leadership that inspires efficient performance, safe work habits, timely exchange of information, and individuals' commitment to site policies. Participate in contract discussions relating to quality activities. Prepare comprehensive status reports for construction quality activities. Review and approve subcontractors' quality procedures and monitor their adherence to those procedures. Coordinate the activities of assigned quality control engineers and with other construction departments to ensure compliance with site specifications and standards. Prepare quality procedures to ensure proper inspection, testing, and surveillance activities are performed. Provide effective quality training programs and ensure assigned personnel are qualified to perform assigned tasks. Prepare performance evaluations of assigned personnel.Additional DutiesDevelop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans related to electrical and I&C in accordance with Design Output documents, Codes, and Standards.Perform field related inspections in accordance with Quality Control Inspection Plans.Document inspection results on applicable inspection records and issue Non-Conformance reports as required.Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings, specifications, and other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment.Additional Experience QualificationsPractical field experience in electrical and instrumentation and controls (I&C) quality control within the last 16 months. (Preferred)Prior work experience working under an ASME NQA-1 quality program. (Required)Prior DOE work experience. (Required)Well-developed organizational skills with good communication skills. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10's (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80's (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.Required Qualifications: Education & ExperienceEducation: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 8‑10 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas. An Associate's degree and 10‑12 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 12‑16 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent. Well‑developed organizational and supervisory skills and good communication talents are required. Certification in areas of responsibility are required with ongoing programmatic training per the requirements of the project quality program.Other Required QualificationsArea Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties.
