Job DescriptionParsons is now hiring a Principal Roadway Engineer to join our St Louis team! This is a unique opportunity to work for one of the largest engineering firms in the world, joining a highly-experienced, collaborative, and truly flexible team, working on major projects that will impact the infrastructure of your own community and beyond.What You'll Be DoingScopeDeveloping the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned roadway project elements , and monitoring progress to meet schedule and budget requirements / Identifying and documenting changes in scopeDetermining the scope of procurement work, schedules, and budgets for technical aspects of the contract and monitors progressInterfacing with Procurement and Subcontracts to facilitate procurement coordination with vendors/subcontractorsParticipating in bid analysis to help determine supplier availability and capabilityManagementReviewing work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and that quality is acceptableMonitoring productivity and technical proficiency of assigned technical personnel, and making reassignments as project needs arise / Conducting performance evaluations, taking corrective action as necessary, and recommending salary action / Providing training and development opportunities for assigned personnelCoordinating the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project, as well as the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the companyAssist the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or study / Participate in determining the technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion of the projectEnsure client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplinesExpedite distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and Project Manager / Act as Project Manager's deputy for certain activities, such as attending meetings in his/her absence, etc.TechnicalUnderstand the client's business goals in order to enhance the project workPrepare technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project managementObtain, analyze, and circulate technical and contractual information to project disciplinesReview and approve change orders / Notify project management and other affected personnel of all changesParticipate regularly in decision-making meetings with the client and project managementMay manage a subtask of a significantly large and complex project or study in accordance with contractual obligationsWhat Skills/Qualifications You'll Bring4-year degree in Civil or Roadway Engineering (or related field)10+ years of related field engineering experience, a broad general engineering backgroundPE registrationRelevant experience in project engineering for State DOT workProven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity in a project engineering roleExcellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulationsThorough knowledge of current technology and ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for project use or project useSecurity Clearance RequirementNoneThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.BenefitsWe value our employees and want them to take care of their overall wellbeing, which is why we offer best-in-class benefits such as medical, dental, vision, paid time off, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), 401(k), life insurance, flexible work schedules, and holidays to fit your busy lifestyle!Salary Range$103,500.00 - $181,100.00Equal Opportunity EmploymentParsons is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status or any other protected status.Recruitment Fraud NoticeParsons is aware of fraudulent recruitment practices.
