Principal Security Content Manager

We are looking for a strategic, analytical, and collaborative individual to join the Content & Insights team as Principal Security Content Manager. In this role, you will lead a team developing technical training on products across Microsoft's Security products and technologies for both internal and external learners. You will work lead a team of technical writers to produce and maintain a portfolio of accurate, informative, and educational training content that helps our sellers and customers become knowledgeable and skilled at selecting, deploying, and managing Microsoft Security solutions.

Responsibilities

• The development and maintenance of Microsoft's Security training content, including motions to ensure content freshness and shipping new content artifacts timed with product launches.

• Developing and managing stakeholder relationships with product and marketing teams to align security content creation and releases with evolving product and GTM motions.

• Adopting agentic approaches to content creation, including providing requirements for agentic tools.

• Developing hands-on and interactive experiences to help learners gain experience working with Microsoft Security products.

• Collaborating with a peer Credentials team to introduce new Security credentials and advise on credentials portfolio evolution.

• Designing metrics to measure success and collaborating with analytics peers to ensure continuous improvement.

• Culture: Be a trusted partner to executives and an active participant in Global Skilling strategy and planning.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience in in technical content creation OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ years people management experience.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

• Experience authoring business and technical requirements for complex end-user experiences with multiple engineering dependencies.
• Experience creating frameworks and articulating organization-wide strategies with an outside-in perspective.
• Excellence in communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience defining success metrics and measuring impact.
• Experience with tech industry learning products and content types, including instructional design standards.
• Experience with managing and maintaining a catalogue of technical training content.
• Experience with Microsoft and competitor security products.
• Experience adopting agentic processes and tools for content creation.
• Demonstrates commitment to career development and continuous or consistent learning through formal and informal efforts (e.g., change management, design thinking, management training, online courses).

Technical Writing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
