The Process Improvement and Engineering Support (PIES) unit at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a Software Developer with a strong emphasis on Quality Assurance (QA) to support the NRF Custom Application Team. In this role, you will be responsible for contributing application development with a QA driven mindset, integrating QA practices throughout the software development lifecycle, designing and executing test plans for new applications and features, and collaborating closely with the development team to ensure high standards and reliable software delivery.
As a key member of the team, you will:
• Participate in coding and application development with a QA-focused approach
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement software testing tools and frameworks
• Embed automated and manual tests into application development processes
• Continuously enhance QA strategies and testing methodologies to improve product quality
• Develop, write, and execute comprehensive software test plans
• Work closely with users and stakeholders to ensure software meets functional and quality requirements
Proven experience as a software developer with a focus on QA and testing, including:
• Experience with .Net, React, and Cypress or related frameworks
• Test-driven development skills
• Implementation of testing programs and processes
• Preparation and analysis of testing reports
• Oracle or SQL Server database development or testing
