What you'll do...

Position: Principal, Software Engineer

Job Location: 811 Excellence Dr, Bentonville, AR 72716

Duties: Leads the work of cross-functional groups of ten to twenty engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, direction, and examples; identifying short- and long-term solutions and timeline; reviewing and approving proposed solutions; implementing new architectural patterns; and performing design and code reviews of changes. Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); directing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; directing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and reviewing and approving online documentation. Supports business objectives by collaborating with business partners to identify opportunities and drive resolution; partnering with business to define priorities; identifying short- and long-term solutions; and leading cross-functional partnership. Leads the discovery phase of large projects to develop high level design by partnering with Product Management, Web Operations, Project Management, Business and User Experience teams; obtaining cross-function approvals; driving proof-of-concept; and implementing prototypes to validate ideas. Leads and directs in large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; directing and reviewing design artifacts (for example, proof of concepts, prototypes); writing and developing code; overseeing software design; reviewing unit test cases; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; directing project team and cross functional teams; enhancing design to prevent re-occurrences of defects; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs; interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan; and providing leadership to the project team. 

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field plus 6 years of progressively responsible experience in software engineering or related experience OR Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field plus 3 years of progressively responsible experience in software engineering or related experience.

Skills required: Must have experience with: Developing Public Cloud native platform-based application using Java & Spring boot Framework; Working with Microservice, an event driven architecture; Designing and developing RESTful, SOAP based Web Services, GraphQL; Performing CRUD operations in relational databases like Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL; Using NoSQL like Cassandra and CosmosDB, MongoDB; Working with point to point and pub-sub streaming messaging systems like IBM MQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ and Kafka; Writing unit and component test cases using Junit, Cucumber, TestNG, SprintTest; Enabling features per customer using centralized configuration management like Spring cloud configuration and configuration management; Deploying containerized applications to clouds like Azure and Google Cloud; Creating, reviewing & maintaining System design covering overall aspects including security, failure points, resiliency, disaster, automation; multi-region cloud ecosystems; Technical and functional mapping on Warehouse & Supply Chain domain concepts; Proactive Alerts, Monitoring of application using AppDynamics, Prometheus & Dynatrace; Working with faster, consistent and automated build and deploy pipelines like Jenkins; Creating pseudo algorithms and selection of appropriate data structures for critical features using Java; Managing current version and rollback using version control systems like Github;  and Reviewing & troubleshooting full stack code created in Java, Kotlin, ReactJs/ AngularJs/ HTML5, JavaScript. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills. 

Rate of pay: $110,000.00 - 220,000.00/year
