Position Description:

Builds digital labor “bots” and extends their capabilities through software development and integration with digital platforms and artificial intelligence technologies. Assesses, designs, and automates existing business processes to deliver fully digital experiences. Translates technical concepts into clear business value terms for stakeholders. Develops Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions using Blue Prism and supports the software development lifecycle, including interactions with web service APIs. Translates divisional initiatives into scalable automation solutions by developing complex applications and evaluating solution alternatives. Provides recommendations on development standards, best practices, and strategies to improve automation delivery across teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participates in architecture and design teams.
• Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
• Prepares and presents design proposals, architecture recommendations, and project outcomes to senior leadership across both business and technology.
• Represents the automation practice in enterprise technology forums, steering committees, and strategy sessions.
• Proactively identifies enterprise automation opportunities and champions innovative solutions that improve scale, reliability, and business value.
• Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
• Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the business.
• Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans; responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
• Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
• Advises risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
• Coaches and mentors junior engineers.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Data Science and Analytics, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, and supporting automation solutions and enterprise RPA platforms within a financial services domain.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Data Science and Analytics, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, and supporting automation solutions and enterprise RPA platforms within a financial services domain.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing, architecting, and delivering Blue Prism automation solutions for complex business processes, including end‑to‑end automation design, API and third‑party platform integration, and secure data exchange; and performing testing and validation to ensure operational efficiency and enable business transformation.
• DE providing technical support to expand adoption of automation platforms, including Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Platform, and Camunda BPMN; and developing reusable automation components, reporting dashboards, and skill‑tracking tools to support organizational automation initiatives.
• DE developing, administering, and upgrading Blue Prism infrastructure across production, UAT, and development environments; and maintaining application servers, runtime resources, and interactive clients, with structured planning, sandbox testing, and release execution.
• DE integrating RPA solutions with DevOps tools, SQL databases, and enterprise systems, including building custom Blue Prism objects and processes, using REST APIs, SQL, C#, Jenkins, OCR solutions, and mainframe platforms, to automate data ingestion, workflow orchestration, and system updates across complex technology environments (AS400, Google Chrome, AWS S3, Microsoft Dataverse and Windows based enterprise applications).

Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
