The ideal candidate is more than a traditional architect. They are a strategic solutioning executive who can diagnose customer challenges, define the best technical path forward, connect technology decisions to mission and business value, and communicate complex solutions clearly in executive briefings, proposals, and orals.

This role will support strategic opportunities across our core service offerings, including AI and data, cloud, cybersecurity, software and digital engineering, enterprise platforms, managed services, DevSecOps, IT modernization, and secure mission solutions. The Principal Solutions Architect will work across business development, capture, proposal, pricing, delivery, engineering, and partner teams to design differentiated, achievable, and compelling solutions for complex federal customers.

What you'll do

  • Lead technical solution strategy for strategic federal opportunities from early qualification through capture, proposal, orals, and transition to delivery.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand mission objectives, pain points, operational constraints, technical environments, acquisition priorities, and desired outcomes.
  • Translate customer needs into integrated technical solutions that are secure, scalable, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned to measurable mission value.
  • Partner with capture managers, account leaders, proposal teams, pricing, delivery executives, and technical SMEs to develop differentiated win strategies and solution narratives.
  • Architect multi-domain solutions across AI/ML, data platforms, cloud, cyber, DevSecOps, enterprise platforms, application modernization, managed services, and mission IT.
  • Lead or support technical volumes, solution artifacts, architecture diagrams, white papers, oral presentations, executive briefings, and customer workshops.
  • Develop technical win themes, discriminators, value propositions, solution roadmaps, and implementation approaches that resonate with federal evaluators and mission stakeholders.
  • Orchestrate SMEs across multiple technical disciplines, ensuring the final solution is coherent, feasible, compliant, and compelling.
  • Assess customer current-state environments and recommend target-state architectures, modernization pathways, operating models, and transition strategies.
  • Support solution reviews, color teams, gate reviews, price-to-win discussions, risk reviews, and executive approvals.
  • Represent the company as a credible senior technical voice in customer conversations, industry events, partner discussions, and strategic pursuits.
  • Help mature reusable solution patterns, accelerators, reference architectures, and partner-aligned offerings across AI, cloud, and cyber.

About the Company

ECS Federal LLC

ECS was founded in 2001 by experienced IT professionals with a commitment to quality processes, people and performance. Led by our Chairman, Roy Kapani, and an experienced executive leadership team, ECS provides our customers with solutions and services that support their critical needs and further mission objectives. This commitment has paved the way for expansive growth, year over year.

ECS gained market share in 2011 in the Department of Defense and Federal spaces through both organic and acquisition growth. In May, ECS completed its first strategic acquisition with the purchase of OAK Management, Inc., a leading provider of marine environmental services, ship systems engineering, maritime consulting and platform acquisition management. The OAK acquisition kicked off ECS’ intention to add tactical acquisitions as a part of its long term strategy to supplement and expand upon organic growth and to build enterprise value. ECS closed out 2011 with the acquisition of Paradigm Technologies, Inc. The Paradigm transaction added approximately 200 employees to ECS’ existing 900+ employees. Paradigm also added new Defense clients for ECS, including the Missile Defense Agency, the Navy’s Program Executive Officer for Integrated Warfare Systems, the United States Marine Corps, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

In 2012, ECS completed the acquisition of iLuMinA Solutions, Inc. iLuMinA brings large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation and infrastructure design and development to ECS’ expanding capabilities.

ECS will continue to invest in corporate infrastructure and quality processes as we grow and enhance our ability to offer professional excellence to both our customers and our employees.
