AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise in critical security domains. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers facing complex security challenges at the intersection of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. SSAs craft secure, scalable, and resilient technical architectures that address these challenges while maintaining the highest security standards. Do you enjoy solving novel and unique technical challenges for customers? Become an AWS Specialist SA!

This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers and partners succeed. Together, specialists and partners provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead complex AI security engagements with enterprise customers, guiding their adoption of secure AI architectures including Bedrock guardrails, agentic identity and access patterns, and AI governance frameworks
  • Help customers deploy and operationalize AWS AI-powered security services, including Security Agent, to accelerate threat detection, investigation, and response
  • Design security architectures for generative AI and agentic workloads, addressing model access control, data protection in AI pipelines, prompt injection mitigation, and output governance
  • Develop the AI security practice across the AWS field community by creating training, enablement content, reference architectures, and scalable programs
  • Amplify voice of the customer back to AWS AI security product teams, surface field patterns, identify gaps, and translate feedback into clear requirements that shape the roadmap
  • Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI threat landscape, emerging attack vectors for AI systems, and defensive techniques to continuously improve guidance to customers
  • Create and deliver internal/external training, workshops, and conference presentations on AI security best practices
  • Collaborate with service teams, security specialists, AI/ML specialists, and partners to build joint solutions that address the most complex AI security challenges customers face
  • Author AI security best practices, reference architectures, and prescriptive guidance that scales impact beyond individual engagements
  • Build and maintain relationships with AWS Partners in the security and AI ecosystem to design and deliver joint architectures

A day in the life

As a Principal Specialist Solutions Architect for AI Security, you will lead complex customer engagements across the full spectrum of AI security: securing AI workloads and data pipelines, implementing governance and access controls for agentic systems, and helping customers adopt AWS AI-powered security services. You will develop and scale technical expertise across the AWS field community, and work closely with AWS service teams to translate what you learn from customers into product improvements.

About the Company

A

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
