Role Overview

TURNBRIDGE is seeking a Principal Storage Engineer to design, implement, and operate enterprise-grade storage platforms supporting business-critical workloads. In this senior technical role, you will lead strategy and execution for distributed block storage infrastructure, ensuring highly available, secure, and resilient storage services across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage large-scale, enterprise storage solutions for mission-critical applications
• Lead the full lifecycle of block storage platforms, including product selection, implementation, upgrades, and decommissioning
• Design and maintain highly available storage environments leveraging replication, snapshots, and disaster recovery technologies
• Serve as a technical escalation point for complex storage incidents, performing deep root-cause analysis and resolution
• Drive capacity planning, performance tuning, and long-term scalability strategies
• Ensure storage platforms meet security, compliance, and data protection requirements
• Collaborate with infrastructure, compute, network, and security teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Evaluate vendor technologies, influence roadmap discussions, and support budgeting and business case development
• Lead during high-impact incidents, providing clear communication to technical teams and leadership
• Develop automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience managing enterprise block storage platforms
• Proven expertise in distributed storage engineering and architecture
• Deep understanding of data replication, snapshots, backup, and disaster recovery
• Hands-on experience with multiple storage arrays and vendors
• Extensive experience in large Fibre Channel SAN environments and iSCSI protocols
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across complex storage ecosystems
• Demonstrated experience with capacity management and performance optimization
• Security-first mindset with a strong understanding of compliance and data protection
• Solid foundation in computer science, distributed systems, and storage architectures
• Experience automating infrastructure using one or more general-purpose programming languages

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with additional storage models (NAS, Object Storage, Cloud Storage)
• Familiarity with server and networking technologies
• Knowledge of NVMe and next-generation storage protocols
• Experience working with cloud platforms and hybrid storage architectures
• Ability to influence vendors and guide product evolution
