Principal Systems Engineer Infrastructure Services

Remote

We are hiring a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the design, engineering, operations, and optimization of enterprise hybrid cloud infrastructure environments. This role will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for core datacenter technologies, cloud operations, infrastructure automation, and enterprise platform reliability across a global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, implement, and support enterprise hybrid cloud infrastructure platforms
  • Lead engineering efforts across Azure, Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, storage, and backup technologies
  • Drive infrastructure modernization, automation, and operational excellence initiatives
  • Oversee system monitoring, performance optimization, patching, upgrades, and disaster recovery processes
  • Collaborate with security, networking, applications, and operations teams on strategic initiatives
  • Lead technical design reviews, architecture discussions, and infrastructure standards development
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and performance issues across global environments
  • Mentor technical teams and provide guidance on best practices and operational improvements

Required Experience

  • 15+ years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience
  • Strong expertise in Azure hybrid cloud environments
  • Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, PKI, PAM, and core infrastructure services
  • Deep knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments (RHEL/SUSE preferred)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies including Nutanix, Hyper-V, Azure Stack, and Kubernetes/OpenShift
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and SAN storage technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, and DevOps practices
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash, ARM templates, Ansible, or similar tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Azure, AWS, or GCP certifications
  • ITIL certification preferred
  • Experience supporting SAP environments is a plus
