Join WECTEC Staffing Services as a Principal Transmission Substation Engineering Program Manager and take charge of complex substation initiatives from concept through commissioning. This is a remote role with travel to Juno Beach, FL twice monthly, offered as a 1-year W-2 contract.
What You Will Do
- Own internal substation projects end-to-end—from initiation to energization
- Partner with Early-Stage PMs and Development to define engineering scope for FERC 1000 and greenfield proposals
- Run project meetings, maintain performance dashboards, and drive closure on issues
- Source and award consulting partners via NEER’s Integrated Supply Chain (ISC): scopes, bids, evaluations, and selections
- Coordinate site identification and development; secure permits, data, and engineering updates
- Support Transmission Services with interconnection deliverables: system impact, facility, reactive/harmonic studies, and agreements
- Ensure Transmission Owner requirements and E&C design comply with ISO requirements and are embedded in project designs
- Manage design maturity at 10%, 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC across physical, electrical, and civil disciplines
- Guide EORs; structure document reviews and consolidate stakeholder comments
- Define work plans and lines of demarcation for project engineering resources
- Back the master schedule from an engineering perspective
- Support Legal during regulatory filings, depositions, and hearings
- Collaborate with OEMs to align equipment with NEER philosophies
- Research and apply emerging practices, tools, and standards to elevate outcomes
What You Bring
- BS in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 11+ years in high-voltage substation engineering/design
- Experience in project engineering and project management
- PE stamp not required
- Willingness to travel within North America; onsite in Juno Beach, FL twice monthly
