Job Description:

Compensation:

  • Pay Range is $19.00 to $23.00 an hour - paid weekly (with an additional shift differential for night shift)

Shifts Available: All shifts available 1st, 2nd and 3rd

 

Position Summary:

Reports to the shift supervisor and is responsible for operating a six or eight color dry offset Van Dam press; will also perform numerous size change’s and setups on the Van Dam’s and will relieve the inspector or loader during all breaks. Will ensure that all products being run matches meets customers and WNA’s expectations by matching the approved signed artwork and supervisor approved sample, also will ensure that all packaging and labels match customer specs that are documented on the ECS. Will be responsible for the overall quality of the production run as well as the performance of his/her work cell.

 

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

· Run the dry offset presses to the established production speeds and quality standards running at or above 105% efficiency.

· Monitor quality of print throughout production runs…assuring that print match’s signed sample at all times.

· Keep scrap at or below 2.0%.

· Read and fully understand the ECS and shop orders making sure everything (packaging, labels, etc) is correct on final Product that goes out the door.

· Oversee work crew that consists of packer and loader.

· Must be able to troubleshoot, maintain, and perform minor maintenance on Presses if need be.

· Load or pack a press during an 8 or 12-hour shift monitoring inks and quality at the same time.

· Will need tools to properly do the job after a 90-day probation period.

· Abides by and enforces all WNA policy and procedures. 10. Works with a safety 1st no compromise attitude.

· Follows All GMP Policy and Procedures.

· Keep press and surrounding area clean and organized with all adjustments clean of ink and no tape or temp repairs on the press.

· Works the hours they are scheduled to work since the position of operator is very critical in the day to day operation of the plant. Work shift will fall into the 24/5 or 24/7 operations of the plant.

· Weekend work should be expected.

· Accept responsibility and be held accountable for product that they and their crew send out the door.

· Be a team player that doesn’t mind helping others.

 

Candidate Requirements:

· High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

· Some printing and mechanical experience desired.

· Be an active learner and listener with some troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
