We are seeking Printer Technicians to support a large-scale printer relocation, replacement, and retirement project in Bristol, CT. This is a hands-on, onsite role ideal for technicians with experience supporting, deploying, configuring, and moving a wide range of printer hardware.
The Printer Technician will work across a large campus environment, relocating and replacing printers ranging from standard desktop devices to large multifunction printers (MFPs). Technicians will be responsible for physically moving equipment between floors and buildings, performing basic device configuration, validating functionality, and properly retiring old equipment.
Responsibilities
Move, relocate, retire, and replace printers throughout a large campus environment
Support a variety of printer hardware, including desktop printers and multifunction printers (MFPs)
Transport printers between floors and buildings as needed
Install and set up replacement printer devices
Perform basic printer configuration, including IP and MAC address configuration
Connect and validate printers within the network environment
Test devices to ensure proper functionality following installation or relocation
Disconnect, retire, and remove old printer equipment
Maintain accurate documentation of device moves, replacements, and retirements
Follow established processes and procedures for equipment handling and deployment
Work independently and efficiently while managing multiple device moves and installations
Safely lift, carry, and transport printer equipment of varying sizes
Required Qualifications
Previous experience as a Printer Technician, Field Technician, Desktop Support Technician, Deployment Technician, or similar IT support professional
Hands-on experience installing, configuring, relocating, or troubleshooting printers and multifunction devices
Experience supporting printer hardware ranging from desktop printers to larger MFPs
Basic understanding of networking and printer connectivity
Experience configuring or verifying IP and MAC addresses
Ability to physically move and transport IT and printer equipment between floors and buildings
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to follow technical processes and accurately document completed work
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on deployment environment
Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred Experience
Managed Print Services (MPS) experience
Experience with large-scale printer deployment, refresh, relocation, or optimization projects
Experience supporting HP, Xerox, Ricoh, Canon, or other enterprise printer and multifunction device environments
Experience working in a large corporate or campus environment
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking
