Pharmacist Highlights
The pay for this position is $53.00 per hour.
Full-time (40 hours/week)
Fully remote (work from anywhere in the continental U.S.; excluding New Mexico and Colorado)
Temporary assignment (currently set through Oct 9, 2027)
Schedule
Shifts available (choose one):

Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday
Shift options (CST):10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Training (required):

Nov 9 – Dec 4 (Mon–Fri), 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST
Responsibilities
Review prior authorization requests and make coverage determinations based on clinical criteria and plan design.
Verify coverage/eligibility; interpret clinical guidelines; consult with providers as needed.
Communicate approvals/denials promptly to providers, members, and other stakeholders per process/SLA.
Collaborate with technicians and prior authorization team to gather clinical/medical documentation and resolve escalations.
Handle inbound/outbound calls with providers, members, and internal teams to support the PA process.
Maintain knowledge of drug/disease states for specialty and non-specialty pharmacy programs.
Complete other duties as assigned, including trainings/meetings and potential after-hours on-call support for urgent requests.
Requirements
Active Pharmacist license (applicable to the role) — must be included at the top of the resume.
Prior authorization experience strongly preferred (ideal: 2+ years).
PBM / Managed Care / Health Plan experience strongly preferred; Specialty Pharmacy experience is a plus.
Comfortable with high volume: approx. 50 calls/day and ~40 PA cases/day.
Strong documentation, communication, and organization skills.
High school diploma/GED verifiable.
Remote work setup + compliance:Private, secure workspace (conversations cannot be overheard; screens/docs not visible to others)
Must protect confidential information and CVS property
Must shut down/lock workstation when away
Technology requirementsBroadband internet required (minimum 25 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload)
Smartphone required (VPN token app)
