Under the guidance from the Audits Manager, the Privacy Coordinator serves as the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Departments privacy compliance and governance lead. This position you will be responsible for the following:
Privacy Governance and Policy Development
Develop, implement and maintain Agency privacy policies and procedures.
Conduct privacy gap analyses and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state privacy requirements.
Monitor changes in privacy laws, regulations and enterprise standards.
Enterprise Privacy Office Coordinator
Serve as agency liaison to the Enterprise Privacy Office.
Attend required meetings, conferences and committees.
Prepare and submit required reports and documentation.
Communicate privacy-related changes to executive leadership.
Privacy Documentation and Data Governance
Develop confidentiality agreements and privacy notices.
Maintain website privacy policies.
Coordinate data classification efforts with IT and Human Resources.
Maintain documentation of data locations, classifications and safeguards.
Privacy Assessments and Compliance Monitoring
Conduct Privacy Threshold Analyses (PTA) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA).
Develop and administer agency-wide privacy assessment programs.
Monitor agency compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements.
Provide recommendations for corrective actions and risk mitigation.
Records Management
Manage agency records retention and destruction activities.
Maintain records schedules and destruction logs.
Ensure compliance with state records management requirements.
Training and Awareness
Develop and deliver privacy training programs.
Ensure employees receive required privacy training.
Provide ongoing privacy awareness communications and updates.
Incident Response
Participate in privacy incident response planning.
Assist in investigation and response to privacy incidents.
Coordinate reporting and corrective actions following incidents.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in compliance, quality management, records management, or privacy and risk assessment.
If invited to interview, please obtain your Official 10 year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles to bring with you.
Official transcripts will be required to verify college degree.

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Occasional travel may be required to conduct privacy assessments, provide training, attend meetings, or participate in statewide privacy initiatives.
