About the Role

The Associate will join a lower middle-market private equity firm in their Boston, MA office. Our client focuses on technology, business services, consumer services, healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, investing in businesses with EBITDA of at least $1M and are currently investing out of Fund VIII. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established firm which prides itself on its collaborative, dynamic culture and close partnerships with founder-owned businesses. 

Additional firm highlights include: 

• Team size (Deal and Operations): ~10
• $500M AUM
• Preferred Investment Amount: $3–8M
• Preferred Revenue: $5–50M
• Preferred EBITDA: >$1M

Key Responsibilities

The Associate will support senior investment professionals in investment sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management functions of the firm. Specific responsibilities include:

• Financial analysis – Create financial models to analyze cash flows, investment returns, and enterprise values for new investment opportunities and existing portfolio companies
• Investment approval materials – Prepare memos and other approval materials for the Investment Committee
• Industry research – Conduct research on market size, growth prospects, demand drivers, key competitors, etc.
• Third party diligence – Facilitate diligence activities with third-party partners (e.g., senior lenders, accountants, attorneys, IT consultants, strategy consultants)
• Portfolio management – Assist with ongoing monitoring and ad hoc strategic projects for portfolio companies 

Professional Experience & Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience (by Summer 2027) in investment banking, private equity, leveraged finance, or management consulting, with lower middle-market experience a plus.

Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment, work independently, prioritize work effectively, and meet stringent deadlines while maintaining high quality of work standards.

 Education

 An undergraduate degree is required.  

Salary

Salary is competitive, depending on experience.
