Compensation

$260,000 – $390,000+

A premier global law firm is seeking a Private Equity Associate Attorney to join its Houston office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, founders, management teams, and institutional investors in sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions.

Ideal Background

3–6 years of private equity, mergers & acquisitions, or corporate transactional experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience representing private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, strategic buyers and sellers, founders, management teams, and institutional investors

• Experience handling leveraged buyouts, platform and add-on acquisitions, recapitalizations, growth equity investments, divestitures, and exit transactions

• Experience drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, merger agreements, operating agreements, shareholder agreements, equity investment documents, and other corporate transaction documents

• Experience managing legal due diligence, transaction workstreams, and multidisciplinary deal teams from signing through closing

• Experience advising clients regarding corporate governance, equity incentive arrangements, and general corporate matters

• Experience working on cross-border transactions, energy-related private equity transactions, or infrastructure investments is a plus

• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated transactions while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

Texas bar admission required or ability to become admitted
