Private Equity Associate

A leading middle-market private equity firm is seeking a Private Equity Associate to join its investment team in Los Angeles. The firm focuses on investing in software and technology-enabled businesses, partnering closely with management teams to drive operational improvements and accelerate growth.

This is an opportunity to join a highly active investment platform and gain meaningful exposure across the full deal lifecycle, including sourcing, diligence, execution, and portfolio value creation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and execute investment opportunities across software and technology-enabled sectors.
• Build and maintain complex financial models, including LBO, operating, and valuation models.
• Conduct market research, industry analysis, and commercial due diligence.
• Participate in management meetings, investment committee presentations, and transaction processes.
• Support portfolio company initiatives and work directly with management teams to drive value creation.
• Develop relationships with investment bankers, executives, intermediaries, and industry stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Corporate Development, or Transaction Advisory.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skillset.
• Experience supporting M&A and leveraged buyout transactions.
• Demonstrated interest in software, technology, and technology-enabled services.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Strong academic credentials and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
