    Title: Private Equity Associate/Senior Associate

    Company Summary: A Chicago-based private equity firm is seeking a Private Equity Associate / Senior Associate to join its dynamic team. The firm specializes in lower-middle market investments within the consumer sector. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a lean, highly acquisitive team, with a proven track record of success.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead due diligence efforts, financial analysis, and market research for potential investments.
    • Develop investment theses, conduct financial modeling, and assess the operational potential of target companies.
    • Work closely with portfolio companies to drive value creation, including strategic planning, performance improvement, and operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to refine the firm's investment strategy and evaluate new market opportunities.
    • Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals, advisors, and other key stakeholders.
    • Support fundraising efforts and interact with investors, presenting investment opportunities and results.

    Qualifications:

    • 1-3 years of Investment Banking experience performing M&A with a reputable middle market or lower middle market bank; related transaction advisory consulting experience will also be considered
    • 2-4 years of private equity experience with with a reputable lower middle market firm
    • Bachelor's Degree in finance, business, or related field; MBA preferred
    • Superior financial analysis, modeling, budgeting, and forecasting skills (there will be a modeling test)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional work ethic
    • Prior experience or interest in sectors such as consumer, services, or industrials
