Homeschool Teacher / Private Educator
We are seeking an experienced, organized, and engaging Homeschool Teacher / Private Educator to provide personalized academic instruction and educational guidance for 5th grade and Pre-K children in a home-based learning environment.
The ideal candidate is passionate about education, highly dependable, and capable of creating a structured but engaging homeschool experience that challenges children academically while supporting their individual learning styles, interests, and development.
This position is 20-25 hours per week Monday - Thursday. Schedule may occasionally include educational outings, field trips, or other activities during normal school hours.
Academic Instruction
Develop and implement a comprehensive homeschool curriculum appropriate for each child's age, grade level, abilities, and learning style.
Provide daily instruction in core subjects including:
Reading and writing
Mathematics
Science
History/social studies
Geography
Incorporate enrichment subjects such as art, music, technology, foreign language, physical education as appropriate.
Adapt teaching methods and curriculum based on each child's academic progress and interests.
Provide individualized instruction and additional support when needed.
Establish clear academic goals and monitor progress throughout the school year.
Maintain appropriate records of assignments, grades, assessments, and educational milestones.
Learning Environment
Create a structured, positive, and intellectually stimulating classroom environment within the home.
Establish consistent daily and weekly routines.
Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving, independence, and a love of learning.
Balance academic instruction with hands-on activities, projects, outdoor learning, field trips, and experiential education.
Foster appropriate social and emotional development alongside academic growth.
Planning & Organization
Prepare weekly and daily lesson plans.
Select and organize curriculum, educational materials, books, technology, and other resources.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding academic progress, challenges, accomplishments, and recommendations.
Participate in periodic curriculum and educational planning meetings with parents.

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred.
Valid teaching certification preferred but not required depending on experience.
Prior classroom teaching, homeschooling, tutoring, or private-education experience strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of elementary and/or middle-school academics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the children's educational program.
Patient, energetic, creative, and enthusiastic teaching style.
Strong technology skills and willingness to incorporate appropriate educational technology.
Excellent judgment, professionalism, discretion, and reliability.
Background check and professional references required.
