Pleasant Hill Academy is seeking a reliable and caring Private School Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and school-related activities. Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on assigned routes.
- Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly bus environment.
- Follow all Florida traffic laws and school transportation policies.
- Ensure students board, ride, and exit the bus safely.
- Maintain accurate route, mileage, and inspection records.
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and administration.
- Report accidents, incidents, maintenance concerns, or student behavior issues promptly.
- Assist with loading and unloading students when necessary.
- Transport students for field trips and special school events as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements, or ability to obtain before employment.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to pass all required Level II background screening and drug testing.
- Ability to meet all Florida Department of Education and Department of Highway Safety requirements for school bus drivers.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working with children of all ages.
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of a Christian school.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous school bus driving experience.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience working with children in an educational setting.
