PRN AP/CP General Surgical Pathologist

Location: Bradenton, FL

Overview

We are seeking a PRN Anatomic & Clinical Pathologist to provide flexible coverage for a network of community hospitals throughout Florida's Gulf Coast region. This is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible pathologist looking for a flexible schedule while practicing the full scope of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in a collaborative hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing coverage primarily on Mondays and Tuesdays, with additional shifts available as needed throughout the surrounding region.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)
  • Comfortable practicing the full scope of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in a community hospital environment
  • Ability to provide ongoing PRN coverage, primarily on Mondays and Tuesdays, with additional coverage as needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Active Florida Medical License or eligibility to obtain one

Practice Highlights

The practice offers a diverse case mix, including:

  • Broad range of surgical pathology specimens
  • Cytology cases primarily consisting of:
    • Non-GYN cytology
    • Thyroid fine needle aspirations (FNA)
    • Lung fine needle aspirations (FNA)
  • Clinical pathology responsibilities may include:
    • Peripheral smear reviews
    • Blood bank consultations
