AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking an APP to provide comprehensive care, support and education to patients and their families through all aspects of their ortho/spine surgical process. The APP will participate as a key member of the Orthopedic & Spine team to identify and meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient. We are looking for someone who utilizes a collaborative multi-disciplinary approach to the patient/family's care, serving as an expert practitioner, educator, consultant, and researcher in the inpatient, operative, and outpatient settings.

This role is 100% hospital-based at AdventHealth Avista.

  • Job Responsibilities

    Job Requirements

  • Schedule: 1 out of every 3 weekends (about 4-6hrs/day) AND 1-2 weekdays per week (about 6-8hrs/day). More or less days/shifts can be made available depending on applicant's availability.
  • Attending to post operative patients on the hospital floor and manage their care for all surgeons who desire to participate in the program
  • PRN Surgery Assisting, as well as minor procedures (Joint Aspirations/Injections, fracture reductions, wound closures, etc.)
  • Helping with throughput by discharging patients in a timely manner.
  • Helping to achieve advanced orthopedic center of excellence results.
  • Ordering and interpreting test results.
  • Writing orders and prescriptions, and referrals to specialists as indicated by patient situation.
  • Managing discharge of patients with appropriate disposition, follow-up planning, adjunctive therapy management and education.
  • Expected to maintain responsibility for job performance specifications and assume personal accountability for departmental mission, organizational mission, and the core values of AdventHealth.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

  • Master’s degree (PA or NP program)
  • 1-2 years of Ortho/Spine experience
  • Experience as a surgical assist preferred

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Certification by N.C.C.P.A.
  • Active physician assistant license by the state of Colorado or willingness to obtain one
  • BLS
