This role expands on the core responsibilities of a Patient Care Technician (PCT), offering handsâon experience with specialized orthopedic and urology procedures in a fastâpaced hospital environment.
As an OUS, you will perform and document traction, cast application, splinting, and urological care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You’ll collaborate with the nursing team to ensure safe, highâquality care based on patient condition, staff competency, and required supervision.
You’ll serve as a key resource for orthopedic and urological patient education, supporting patients, families, and staff with clear instruction and guidance. In addition, you’ll help maintain and manage orthopedic/urology equipment, ensure proper supply levels, and assist with evaluating new products used in the unit.
This position includes ongoing professional development, including annual OUS skills evaluations and completion of the preceptor training program within one year of hire.
