Job Overview 
The Youth Residential Counselor provides direct supervision and support to youth in a residential setting while fostering skill development in areas such as independent living, budgeting, cooking, and laundry. This person will ssist residents with community-based activities, including recreational outings, medical appointments, and other essential services. Also, collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team and utilize the Nurtured Heart Approach to help implement individualized treatment goals and promote positive youth development.

Program Info 
Pettirosso Community Home offers a structured therapeutic environment where young women receive around-the-clock care and intensive, trauma-informed treatment. Residents engage in individual, group, and family therapy, as well as allied therapies, with the goal of transitioning to a lower level of care or reuniting with their families.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide direct supervision to youth in the home
  • Assist with skills training and independent living responsibilities (cooking, laundry, budgeting)
  • Take residents out in the community (outings, doctor appointments, etc.)
  • Learn and be a part of providing supervision to youth via The Nurtured Heart philosophy
  • Work closely with the clinical therapist, case manager, nurse, psychiatrist and director in implementation of youth treatment plan goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • OR High School graduate with 3 or more years of experience providing direct care to youth in a behavioral health agency or institutional/school setting
  • Energy and a passion to assist our youth in a residential setting
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle, an acceptable driving record, and complete background and drug screenings.
  • Professionalism and a commitment to excellence in care

Additional Information 

  • Base Rate: $18.50/ hourly
  • Sign-on Bonus: $500
  • Bilingual-Spanish differential: An additional $1.50/hourly added to base rate if Spanish proficient

Primary focus areas have been Command and Control, Ballistic Missile Defense, Integrated Air and Missile Defense, Strike Warfare, Unmanned air, undersea and surface vehicles, Distributed Netted Systems, Anti-Submarine Warfare, Large Area/Global Concept of Operations, Maritime Domain Awareness, Global Maritime Awareness, Red Team, Health Services Support, Mine Warfare, Joint/Navy Command Organization and Relationships, and the technologies, systems and processes involved with the above.
