A well-established law firm focused on estate planning and probate matters is seeking an experienced Probate Paralegal to join its team in West Hartford, CT. This is a fully in-person position offering the opportunity to work closely one-on-one with an experienced attorney while handling a steady stream of probate and estate administration matters. The firm is looking for a detail-oriented and organized professional who is comfortable managing probate files from start to finish and enjoys working directly with clients during sensitive and important life transitions. Candidates must have 3 years of experience working as a fully-focused probate paralegal to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist with probate and estate administration matters from opening through closing
- Prepare probate filings, petitions, inventories, accountings, and related court documents
- Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, courts, and financial institutions
- Organize and maintain probate files and supporting documentation
- Track deadlines and ensure timely filings with the probate court
- Assist with gathering asset information and coordinating estate administration tasks
- Support the attorney with case management and day-to-day probate workflow
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of probate paralegal experience required
- Prior experience handling probate and estate administration matters in Connecticut preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple active files
- Comfortable working directly with clients and handling sensitive matters professionally
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the attorney
- Reliable, responsive, and deadline-driven
