This position is eligible for appointment at Step 1, $54,059.20 annually. County employees are subject to the county promotion rule for step placement in accordance with compensation ordinance 1.3.5.

Future Salary Increases

June 2026 - 4.6% increase to base pay (3.5% Across-the-Board + 1.10% Market Adjustment)

June 2027 - 4.1% increase to base pay (3.0% Across-the-Board + 1.10% Market Adjustment)

About the Position

Probation Aides, working under the supervision of Probation Managers or Officers, follow pre-established and repetitive research methods as well as involve data collection methods to organize information into a predefined form for report preparation and analysis by professional probation staff. Duties also include contacting other agencies to verify, gather, exchange and update data.

Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrates a high degree of motivation and willingness to learn.
  • Possesses proficiency in computer-based applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe.
  • Demonstrates the ability to compile, calculate and summarize data.
  • Possesses keen organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Communicates effectively and is detail-oriented.

Education and/or Experience

  • Two (2) years of full-time, paid experience performing paraprofessional or difficult and complex clerical work independently (e.g., Senior Office Assistant, Human Services Specialist, Revenue and Recovery Officer, Records Clerk, Patient Services Specialist); OR,
  • One (1) year of the experience described above and an associates degree (or higher) from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency (preferably in business administration, accounting, mathematics or a related field).

Hiring Process

  • Interviews will take place on the week of 7/27/2026
  • Job offers for selected candidates will be made the week of 8/3/2026
  • The Background Process begins shortly after interviews are completed.
  • Anticipated Start Date: The start date will be based upon the successful completion of the background check, medical screening and/or a mutually agreed upon date.

Condition of Employment
