About This Role:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal skills for a full-time Probation/Pretrial Specialist. Prince William County Criminal Justice Services is an Evidence Based Practices Agency. It is a fast paced, growing, family style organization that promotes public safety. We strive to reduce victimization, break the cycle of crime, and contribute to community restoration by incorporating the use of Evidence Based Practices to assist those under our supervision make positive changes in their lives.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related field such as criminology, psychology, social services, counseling, or work involving court proceedings, case supervision, or related judicial processes.

Preferences:

The successful candidate will have:

  • A bachelors degree in Criminology, Psychology, Social Services, Counseling, or a related field, and 5 years of experience related to probation/pretrial services.
  • Experience in the supervision of clients in the community
  • Case management experience
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and making referrals upon identified needs
  • Experience working 1:1 in the creation of case plans to include follow-up
  • Customer service experience
  • Group facilitation experience
  • Experience making presentations
  • Experience working with individuals involved in the Criminal Justice System
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

Special Requirements:

Some overnight travel.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday typically between 8 am and 5 pm

Starting Salary Range: $36.37 - $50.24
