Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Process Control Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite full-time in Decatur, IL. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $41/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a Process Control Engineer to support manufacturing operations, supply chain optimization, and product quality initiatives. This role focuses on applying engineering principles to improve production efficiency, manage supplier quality, and support new product introduction (NPI) activities. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and suppliers to ensure products meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements. This position offers hands-on exposure to both office-based engineering work and manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities from concept through PPAP to ensure quality and cost targets are met
Analyze manufacturing processes, workflows, and production data to improve efficiency and reliability
Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to support production and supplier activities
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to manage quality feedback loops and resolve production issues
Drive Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives to reduce cost and improve manufacturability
Assist in developing supply chain strategies and support sourcing decisions
Prepare reports, charts, and data analysis to support engineering and operational decisions
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Supply Chain, or related Engineering field
24+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or supply chain engineering
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents
Experience with CAD tools (Creo or similar), Teamcenter, and Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems (Six Sigma, APQP)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cost analysis, should-cost modeling, or value engineering (VAVE)
Exposure to supplier management, sourcing, or supply chain processes
Experience working with fabrication, non-metallic components, or electrical harness systems
Familiarity with production environments and cross-functional engineering teams
