Process Control Engineer 2
Duration: 12 months 
Location: Onsite - Decatur, IL
 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the implementation of product supply strategies and manage advanced product quality planning activities from concept through PPAP.

  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and supply chain teams to evaluate manufacturing processes, materials, and supplier capabilities for various off-highway truck components.

  • Analyze manufacturing data and identify supply restraints proactively, ensuring reliable product supply and quality assurance.

  • Engage with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issues, improve manufacturing methods, and optimize costs through VAVE and cost modeling.

  • Utilize tools like Teamcenter and Workflow to route change notices and manage engineering drawings and specifications.

Required Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and forming/welding techniques.

  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, and managing quality assurance activities.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manufacturing data.

  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to interact effectively with suppliers and internal teams.

  • Familiarity with Teamcenter, Six Sigma, and cost analysis techniques.

  • Professional experience in manufacturing, supplier quality, or related fields.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • 3D modeling experience, particularly with Creo.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.

  • Experience with design for manufacturability and value engineering.

  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to management.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Supply Chain Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in manufacturing, supplier quality, or engineering roles.

  • Experience working within heavy machinery or similar industries with low-volume, high-mix production environments.

  • Knowledge of Should Cost modeling is advantageous but not required.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% for supplier visits.

  • Ability to start by June 15, 2026, and work in an office environment, with some remote work possible.

  • Must be prepared to operate in an export-controlled environment and adhere to all safety and compliance protocols.
