Process Development Associate

Payrate: $22.00 - $23.50/hr.
 
Summary:
The role involves developing, characterizing, and supporting clinical drug substance manufacturing processes for early-stage programs. The successful candidate will work in an integrated bioprocess development group, contributing to the advancement of a dynamic pipeline. This is a lab-based position requiring at least one year of relevant lab experience.
 
Responsibilities

• Support the development, characterization, scale-up, and support of upstream and downstream processes to enable clinical advancement of programs.
• Design and execute bench-scale experiments covering the end-to-end drug substance process, including cell culture and purification operations.
• Apply established platform approaches and utilize problem-solving skills to rapidly solve day-to-day experimental challenges.
• Contribute to technology development, including process automation.
• Expand and develop skills in both cell culture and purification.
• Communicate results to managers and cross-functional groups.
• Operate chromatography equipment.

 
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or an associate degree with 4 years of scientific experience.
• Basic understanding of protein chromatography, filtration, or cell culture principles.
• Ability to identify, develop, and implement solutions to practical problems through application of fundamental scientific and engineering principles, preferably in a process development environment.
• Experience with statistical analysis and programming in JMP, R, and/or Python environments is a plus.
• Motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and/or purification operations is a plus.
• Experience with data analytical tools (Excel, Spotfire, etc.) is preferred.

 
Skills

• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or other relevant sciences with a demonstrated record of excellence.
• Team player with the ability to work successfully within a diverse team in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
• Familiarity with design of experiments and statistical analysis of data is desirable.
• Preferred work experience post-graduation.

 
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $22.00 - $23.50 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
