This individual should be mature, self‑motivated and innovative; capable of resolving problems independently.The successful candidate will be exposed to TC Energy's diverse portfolio of natural gas storage and pipeline assets and the programs utilized to manage these assets throughout the U.S. The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing priorities under tight time constraints - with minimal supervision, be able to evaluate / analyze operating data and deliver timely and accurate interpretation to stakeholders, work as an individual and collaborate with others to achieve shared goals and quickly learn and apply new concepts.What you'll doProvide technical support for TC Energy's gas storage facility operations, monitoring the performance and integrity of gas conditioning and processing facilities to ensure reliable delivery of customer gas to tariff provisions.Identify and develop cost‑effective solutions to solve operating problemsDevelop design concepts and process designs for system deliverability and reliability enhancementsPerform design and sizing of natural gas dehydration and separation systemsPerform sizing calculations for overpressure protection / pressure relief valvesDevelop and maintain technical process specifications and integrity plans for natural gas conditioning equipment and systemsCheck and validate vendor equipment sizing and third‑party engineering calculationsDevelop PFDs and P&IDs for modifications of existing and development of new natural gas storage plantsParticipate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and Pre‑Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSR).Write process descriptions and assist in the development of project Design BasisMemorandums and operating procedures for gas conditioning and processing systemsFollow and ensure compliance with TC Energy's Practice of Engineering.Perform other related duties as business needs arise and your skills alignBusiness travel will be requiredMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Petroleum EngineeringBasic understanding of natural gas hydrocarbon phase behavior and thermodynamicsBasic understanding of process simulationBasic understanding of the concepts of process safety and risk management, including Process Hazard AnalysesAbility to interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and engineering piping drawingsBasic working knowledge of gas processing equipment, processes and associated instrumentationExcellent decision‑making and practical problem‑solving skillsSelf‑starter with a proactive approach to problem identification and resolutionStrong analytical skillsExcellent computer skillsStrong oral and written communication, collaboration and presentation skillsPreferred Qualifications4 years of process engineering work experienceApplicable natural gas processing experienceHYSYS software experienceState Professional Engineering (PE) licenseThis position requires candidates toHave and maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving recordSuccessfully complete a pre‑employment background checkTravel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home (estimated up 20% of work schedule seasonally).
