POSITION SUMMARY:
The Process Engineer is responsible for evaluating and improving manufacturing processes, tooling, machining methods, and equipment capabilities to support operational efficiency, quality, and cost reduction initiatives. This role drives continuous improvement efforts through tooling enhancements, equipment upgrades, machining process optimization, and implementation of effective manufacturing solutions.
The position supports the full project lifecycle, including CAD/CAM drawing creation, technical detailing, quoting, execution, and implementation of manufacturing methods within the ERP system. The Process Engineer also provides hands-on support to the manufacturing floor by troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, and recommending practical, data-driven corrective actions. Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments are essential for success in this role.
ESSENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Identify and implement process improvements for machining operations and products
· Develop, maintain, and update manufacturing procedures and documentation
· Develop and coordinate training programs for employees
· Support quoting activities for new business opportunities
· Assist in the design and development of tooling and fixtures, including CAD/CAM modeling
· Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to develop process improvements for tube forming, laser cutting, and welding operations
· Support the Quality Department in maintaining compliance with quality management systems and standards, including AS9100
IDEAL EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and able to demonstrate solid experience with the following:
· Process Improvement
· Machining/CNC Operations
· Quoting
· CAD/CAM models
Key Competencies:
Quality Management Systems — Strong understanding of AS9100D requirements, including audits, documentation control, and regulatory compliance
Process Validation — Solid understanding of IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, process capability studies, and validation documentation in regulated environments
Continuous Improvement — Lean and Six Sigma methodology (Green or Black Belt preferred), with hands-on experience in DMAIC, root cause analysis, and waste reduction
Statistical & Analytical Tools — Strong understanding of Minitab for statistical process control (SPC), capability analysis (Cp/Cpk), DOE, and data-driven decision making
Attention to Detail — Precision-driven approach to engineering documentation, data integrity, and process control
Project Management — Proven ability to plan, execute, and close cross-functional engineering projects, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to scope and quality objectives
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma and 5 or more years’ experience in CNC Machining, Engineering and process improvement
· An associate’s degree or similar certificate in a complimentary trade preferred
· Knowledge of various machinery, tools, materials and equipment necessary to perform job duties
· Possess excellent computer/PC skills (including word & excel knowledge)
