    Job Description

    Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Process Engineer Co-Op (full-time Spring 2027 & Summer 2027) This position will be in Vichy, MO. 
     
    *Must be available to take a semester off from school and work 40 hours per week for the duration of the co-op.
    *Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. The majority of work will be performed at the Vichy facility, with occasional travel to the Rolla facility.

    Summary:
    This role focuses on characterizing products and manufacturing processes, analyzing data, and supporting continuous improvements in quality, efficiency, and safety. The position also works closely with technicians and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot process challenges, document findings, and support chemical manufacturing operations.

    Responsibilities:
    • Perform product and process characterization. 
    • Perform work that involves conventional types of plans, investigations, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features that have precedents and require investigation of a limited scope. 
    • Complete assignments that usually include one or more of the following:  testing of materials, preparation of workbook and process specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed. 
    • May coordinate the work of technicians or others who assist in specific assignments. 
    • Maintain accurate records of data, procedures, experiments, tests, and findings for future reference with record retention, which may include the use of lab notebooks. 
    • Analyze data and utilize to ensure continuous improvements in products, processes, and systems under the guidance of more experienced engineers or supervisor/manager. 
    • Prepare regular periodic reports that summarize outcomes, process improvements, achievement, challenges, and roadblocks. 
    • Participate in process troubleshooting activities and propose solutions to operational challenges. 
    • Support the implementation of safety procedures and guidelines within the manufacturing facility. 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance process efficiency and product quality. 
    • Learn and adhere to industry regulations and standards related to chemical manufacturing processes. 

    Credentials and Education:
    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Management. 
    • Undergraduate students only.
