We are seeking a full-time onsite Process Engineer in Decatur, IL, supporting industrial process plant projects on a contract basis starting 3/30/2026.
Responsibilities include developing process engineering deliverables, coordinating with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams, and supporting construction, commissioning, and startup activities. The role requires hands-on experience in process design, equipment specification, and core chemical engineering principles, with the ability to work independently.
Key skills include designing PFDs, P&IDs, performing mass & energy balances, specifying equipment, and understanding safety device requirements. The candidate should have a chemical engineering degree, experience in chemical or related industries, and proficiency with AutoCAD and hydraulic software is advantageous. Physical ability to climb stairs and lift up to 25 lbs is required. Salary ranges from $40-$60/hr.
