Directs and coordinates activities of process engineering department by evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify, analyze and implement improvements in cost, quality, safety and delivery.
- Work with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop a cost-effective and working production process.
- Lead and/or provide input for the specification, design, build and launch of new processes.
- Analyze existing and future production capacity requirements.
- Incorporate needs of production into project and process activities.
- Research and purchase new manufacturing technology.
- Forecast operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
- Support continuous improvement activities to address safety, quality and productivity for the assigned assembly lines.
- Maintain a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations, and develops recommendations accordingly.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial) or equivalent degree.
- 3 years supervisory experience OR 3+ years' experience leading project teams.
- 3 + years in an engineering role
- Strong & effective verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional leadership, analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of core manufacturing practices.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and/or other software
Preferred Education and Experience:
- SAP experience
- Experience in automotive manufacturing and /or engineering and sales driven businesses
- Experience working in a Germany based (international) organization
- Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification(s)
