This role can sit in any of our Michigan offices. The candidate must be a licensed PE with a bachelor7;s degree in civil or environmental engineering and ten to fifteen years of related experience. The candidate should have experience working with large-scale piping, valve, pumping systems, and treatment technologies. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment.Typical ResponsibilitiesProvide technical planning, biological process and mechanical design and construction support on various water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects. Projects may include combined sewer overflow, collection system, pump station, stormwater, hydrologic and hydraulic models and/or other water and wastewater projects.Prepare engineering calculations, run process models (e.g., Excel, Biowin, GPS-X), and support analysis of alternatives. Utilize effective technical writing skills to prepare technical memoranda documenting alternative analyses, basis of design, business case evaluations, P&ID reports, etc.Prepare design reports and construction plans for treatment plants and pump stations using local and state standardsPrepare/assist with specifications and permit submittalsAssist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasksMonitor task budget and progressDocument design changes and communicationsConduct on-site inspections and provide technical guidance for start-up as neededPrepare project status and other reportsAssist in the preparation of proposalsAttend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.Possess strong written and verbal communication skillsMaintain excellent client relationsMaintain a safe working environmentParticipate in the Florida Water Environment Association, or similar organization as a committee memberPublish and present papers at state and national conferences.
