From tactical communications systems to airborne communications and information processing, we deliver high‑reliability solutions that keep our first responders and war‑fighters connected and protected in the field.Position TitleConformal Coat Process EngineerJob PurposeProcess Engineer is responsible for the support of manufacturing operations in the area of application of conformal coatings. Design and implementation of industrial coatings processes (automated and manual) on printed circuit boards. Perform trials, tests and/or experiments to support engineering, production and/or R&D activities. Assist manufacturing operations in problem solving with regards to equipment and systems. Develop and recommends new process formulas and technologies to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality. Establish operating equipment specifications.Nature of Duties/ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement and maintains methods and processes in the manufacture and/or fabrication of circuit card assemblies, sub‑assemblies and final enclosure assemblies.Create standard operating procedures, process work instructions and develop operator training packages for existing and new manufacturing processes.Support production equipment automation, programming and process development providing tooling procurement, design and development support.Estimate manufacturing cost and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.Write/Edit/Develop preventative maintenance and calibration procedures/schedules for new equipment.Submit capital equipment recommendations/requisitions justifications including specifications/parameters.Evaluate new and existing product's adhesive bonding and conformal coating chemistries, tooling, equipment and methodology for continuous process improvement opportunities following lean/six sigma principals.Other relevant duties as assigned by Management.Finds new and/or improved ways to achieve optimum results within job scope. Researches and develops lean manufacturing operations to using leading edge platforms.Must be able to work closely with other sections and engineering disciplines to determine best manufacturing practices to assemble product. In addition, must be capable of training and supporting junior personnel.Must be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously to include determining priorities and scheduling objectives to meet customer and manufacturing operations requirements day to day.Education and ExperienceCandidate must be a US Citizen.2–4 years experience in Electronics Manufacturing.Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering or equivalent direct industry experience required.Solid written/verbal business communication skills.Lean Six Sigma background preferable.Must possess excellent communication skills capable of interacting with all levels of management as well as manufacturing personnel.Knowledge of Electronics manufacturing, mechanical assembly, coating application, DMAIC principles and strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office software.Must be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously to include determining priorities and scheduling objectives to meet customer and manufacturing operations requirements day to day.Citizenship RequirementU.S. citizenship is required because of Department of Defense contract requirements.Equal Opportunity StatementSanmina is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
