We’re partnered with an established precision manufacturer serving medical, life-science, and other quality-critical markets. The organization is expanding its engineering capabilities and seeks a hands-on Process Engineer who can strengthen molding performance, solve technical problems, and help production teams deliver consistently excellent results.

This is a visible engineering role for someone who enjoys working where process science meets the manufacturing floor. Your improvements will directly influence quality, output, equipment performance, and the successful launch of important products.

The Opportunity

You’ll own and improve injection-molding processes from initial development through stable production. Working alongside Engineering, Quality, Tooling, Maintenance, and Operations, you’ll establish repeatable methods, troubleshoot variation, and turn production data into practical improvements.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and optimize plastic injection-molding processes.
  • Establish stable process windows, machine settings, and standardized setup practices.
  • Lead technical trials and process-qualification activities for new and existing products.
  • Use production data and statistical tools to identify variation and improve capability.
  • Troubleshoot molding defects, material concerns, tooling issues, and equipment performance.
  • Improve scrap, yield, cycle time, uptime, and manufacturing consistency.
  • Support new-product launches and the transition from development into production.
  • Evaluate proposed changes to materials, molds, equipment, and operating methods.
  • Lead structured root-cause investigations and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Create clear technical instructions and process documentation.
  • Train operators and technicians on processing standards and best practices.
  • Help advance Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Plastics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Approximately 3–7 years of process or manufacturing-engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with plastic injection molding.
  • Experience with Arburg, Engel, or comparable molding platforms.
  • Working knowledge of scientific molding principles.
  • Understanding of molds, polymers, auxiliary equipment, and molding-machine controls.
  • Experience using SPC, capability studies, DOE, or other data-driven improvement tools.
  • Background in medical devices or another regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Exposure to process validation and regulated documentation is valuable.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, organization, and project-ownership skills.

Location

This is a fully onsite opportunity in Northwest Connecticut. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance or be prepared to relocate independently. Relocation assistance is not available.
