Process Engineer | Ludington, MI

Salary Range: $69,000 - $103,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Ludington that are seeking skilled Process Engineers. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process deviations and quality issues.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other analytical tools to monitor process performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality, to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and materials to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Lead process validation activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with process optimization, statistical process control (SPC), and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., MiniTab, JMP).
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and other engineering documentation.
  • Experience with process simulation software (e.g., ASPEN, HYSYS) is a plus.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and certification (Green Belt or Black Belt).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and simulation software (e.g., Minitab, Arena, Python, R).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams in process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with automation technologies and Industry 4.0 concepts.
