Manufacturing Process Engineer – CNC/CAD-CAM
Location: Naperville, IL
Schedule: Full-time, onsite; occasional overtime and weekends
Compensation: $90-100
Position Summary
Our client, a precision-manufacturing job shop, is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer to manage assigned jobs from initial review through production completion. This role combines manufacturing engineering, 3D CAD, CAM programming, tooling design, documentation, and production troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Review customer drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T.
- Evaluate designs for manufacturability.
- Create 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
- Develop CAM programs and detailed work travelers.
- Design tooling, gauges, fixtures, dies, and workholding.
- Troubleshoot machining and part-production issues.
- Support machining, laser cutting, stamping, welding, and fabrication.
- Communicate with customers regarding designs, approvals, and job issues.
- Support Sales, Estimating, Production, and Quality.
- Manage multiple jobs and demanding deadlines.
Qualifications
- Manufacturing or engineering experience in a job-shop or precision-manufacturing environment.
- Experience taking manufacturing projects from review through completion.
- Proficiency with any comparable 3D CAD platform.
- CAD/CAM or CNC programming experience.
- Strong machining, tooling, fixture, blueprint, and GD&T knowledge.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and technical-writing skills.
- Mechanical Engineering degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR regulations.
