What To ExpectThe Process Engineer is responsible for process planning, capacity planning, project planning, EMF, 2D and 3D layout design and identifying overall operation needs for new and existing projects for Press. This engineer collaborates closely with equipment, tool and die, quality and operations to develop and optimize stamping processes.What You'll DoLead process development/improvement, troubleshoot, data analysisProvides leadership and guidance with regards to press specification and performance standardsProvides detailed evaluations of new and used press/stamping equipment, including but not necessarily limited to, Mechanical and Hydraulic stamping presses, feed lines, blanking lines, laser blank cutting, facility support equipment and plant infrastructureProficient in ROI and payback calculations for new and replacement equipment purchases. Support capital Budget planningDevelop and execute detailed project timeline plans providing regular updates to managementSignificant interaction with suppliers and management of contract expectationsSchedules and facilitates machine trials at suppliers and at Tesla. Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawingsEnsures that suppliers adhere to machine building standards.
