Process Engineer

Job Purpose:

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining diverse manufacturing processes within PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) and System Engineering (TLA). This role is a "hands-on" problem solver who bridges the gap between high-level engineering and floor-level execution. You will qualify new equipment, collaborate with technicians to refine processes, and ensure that all assembly stages meet rigorous quality and performance standards.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conduct DOE (Design of Experiments) on sample boards and assembled units to modify and optimize parameters for maximum yield.
• Identify and monitor Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters, such as stencil pressure/speed in printing, reflow profile ramps (Peak/Soak), and dispensing tolerances in staking.
• Identify, analyze, and propose technical solutions for process defects in both PCBA and TLA (Top Level Assembly).
• Develop specialized programs and processes for projects involving advanced or emerging technologies.
• Lead the installation, qualification, and validation of new manufacturing equipment.
• Take ownership of machine performance and uptime; partner with maintenance and vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
• Propose automation methods to reduce cycle times and implement ergonomic solutions in the TLA area.
• Learn new equipment functionalities and translate that knowledge into training programs for operators and technicians.
• Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and floor staff to resolve real-time process bottlenecks.

Education and Experience:

• BS degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent experience in a Contract Manufacturing (CM) environment will be considered.
• 0-2 years of experience in a technician or junior engineering role, specifically conducting experiments on sample boards and optimizing process parameters.
• Preferred knowledge of Process Engineering software packages and process simulation tools.

• Analytical thinker with strong interpersonal skills.

Salary Range(annual): $70,000 - $85,000

Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
