Candidate must have a chemical engineering background or degree for this role. Another background would be in Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry. This role is highly technical.
Engineering responsibilities:
Participate & advise in the design, engineering & risk assessments of a new manufacturing facility (FEED, HAZOP, FMEA, etc)
• Collaborate with Supply Chain Engineering, Planning, Quality & R&D partners to meet project network timings & milestones
• Carry out design & robustness studies in the pilot plant, including exploration of Client routes to meet desired manufacturing efficiency & quality targets.
• Utilize existing digital platforms to capture technical data for statistical analysis & data visualization.
• Characterization and analysis of raw materials, processing conditions & product attributes (e.g. flow behavior, microstructure, critical control points)
• Identify & document best practices for the storage, handling and processing of new raw materials and delivery formats.
• Translation of product make & fill requirements into detailed technical drawings & SoPs, capturing equipment layout, process, safety & hygienic requirements.
• Validate process, equipment and product interactions during compounding, filling & product changeover (i.e. bulk transfer, product fouling, filling behavior)
• Support the selection of equipment design & suppliers to deliver desired process performance, efficiency & reliability targets
• Support process & equipment commissioning in new manufacturing facility (installation, operational & performance qualification)
• Define & lead the execution of main plant trials, including the development of scale up learning plan, on-site trial coordination, operator training, data analysis and reporting
• Identify & document appropriate process safety + hygiene risks & associated control measures/procedures that deliver the Basis of Safety standards.
• Creation & issuance of process & equipment design documents as part of technology transfer into Supply Chain (Process Flow + Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Specifications, Cleaning & Sanitization procedures, trial protocols)
